In 1992 the Batwa were evicted from the  Batwa Handcrafted Art © Batwa Artist, 2011  with Evelyn (Manager of the Batwa Craft banda) and members of the Batwa Impenetrable Forest in order to protect the endangered Mountain Gorillas and to attract tourists. As a result, the Batwa were left impoverished without a home or a means of making a living. And Marsha had a dream... Batwa products are hand made by the Batwa Pygmies in Uganda who are working to improve their lives and community.
